Heat indices to remain high heading into weekend

Some parts of Indiana had at least five inches of rain this past weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

That led to some flash flood warnings being issued and eased some of the drought-like conditions.

Meteorologist Alex McGinnis with the National Weather Service says if you got rain, be thankful, because the heat is getting turned up at the end of the week and into the weekend.

We can expect heat indices in the southern and western parts of the state to hover around 100 degrees.
