A search is underway for the suspect who police say tried to rob a Dollar General store in Berrien County.

It happened around 8:45, Saturday night, at the store in the 91-hundred block of M-139 in Oronoko Township.

Witnesses told police a male, described as black, wearing black clothing and a black face mask displayed a pistol to the clerk and demanded money. The pistol was tucked in the suspect’s waist band.

As the clerk was starting to place money into a bag, the suspect left the store without taking any money or property. The suspect was last seen running eastbound from the Dollar General.
