The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office participated in a traffic safety project

The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office participated in a traffic safety project on Wednesday, July 13.

Five states partnered to raise awareness and reduce crashes on US 20.

During the project, deputies were on US 20 all day, focusing on the morning and afternoon.

They say that there were a total of 42 citations and 82 warnings given throughout the day.

Arrests were also made, with charges including never receiving a license, operating while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance, intimidation, resisting law enforcement, and driving while suspended.
