A lawsuit claiming the city of Gary was acting as a “sanctuary city” was unanimously rejected by the Indiana Supreme Court.

Four residents claimed Gary was violating state law when a local ordinance was passed in 2017 that was designed to protect the rights of immigrants.

According to WISH-TV, the justices ruled that the four residents had no standing to sue the city over the ordinance since they had not displayed any legal injury from the ordinance.

James Bopp, the Terre Haute-based attorney who has played major roles in fighting for conservative causes in courts around the United States, is representing the plaintiffs.

From what I’ve seen IN is acting as a sanctuary state…defend the borders and deport the illegals!

I don’t care if you’re from India or Istanbul, Mexico or Mumbai…if you’re here illegally go home! Get in line with a legal application and try again.

What would “legal injury” have to look like? I think having your community overrun and your social services bankrupted while being forced to pay taxes for it all should qualify.

Exactly what steps are needed to initiate a lawsuit about this? Our state supreme court appears to be compromised.
