The FDA is warning of risks from some brands of ultraviolet wands.

They say not to use the UV wands for disinfection, because they may expose nearby people to unsafe levels of ultraviolet radiation.

This in turn could cause damage to skin and eyes in only a few seconds.

The FDA says to instead use safer alternatives while cleaning.

The products under scrutiny include multiple brands and names and are listed here.
