Man charged in deadly Elkhart County crash

A man has been charged after a three-vehicle crash that killed two people in June.

Police were called to the intersection of Pike and 3rd Street in Goshen, on reports of a car accident on June 10 at around 11:45 p.m.

The Elkhart Truth reports that 21-year-old Joshua Martinez did not stop at a red light, colliding with the other two cars.

44-year-old Leslie Coffman was pronounced at the scene.

Her husband, 48-year-old Craig Coffman died at the hospital three weeks later.

Another driver, 22-year-old Katie Jones suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Martinez is facing charges of causing death when operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
