A new street project has been approved in South Bend.

The $2.1 million project will add bike lanes and sidewalks to Campeau Street, between Eddy Street and South Bend Avenue.

It’s meant to slow down speedy drivers.

WNDU News reports that many students go through the intersection, so the city wanted to make the area a safer place.

Construction is set to begin in Spring of 2023.

How about writing tickets to slow down speeding drivers? Save 2.1 million.

How about just ticketing and arresting lawbreaking speeders???

That would be punishing lawbreakers, and it would not be rewarding the union road crews. Why would the Mayor’s office do that?

I’m on a walker and can not get up the church ramp. I go to First A.M.E. Zion Church on the corner of Eddy St, and Campeau. When is this project expected to be finished.
