A press conference and vigil were held on Monday after the officer-involved shooting of Dante Kittrell.
Organized by Faith in Indiana, city and faith leaders spoke during the conference.
They say they’re working to develop crises responses for these situations.
The groups says that an outside prosecutor should take over the investigation, that all body camera footage should be released, and that at least 10 percent of the police budget should be used for a mobile crisis response team.
ABC 57 News reports that no body camera footage has been released at this time.

Do you guys run duplicate stories to bury comments that you don’t like? Why run the same story again?
The investigation is underway with the Saint Joseph County Police Department and the Mishawaka Police Department. No special prosecutor should be assigned just because of somebody’s skin tone. People are accountable for their behavior and we are all equal under the law.
When the police are found to be innocent of any wrongdoing, the same people will cry ” cover-up “.
Tragic. Do people actually think any police officer WANTS to Shoot any person ?? Police apparently being observed and filmed by many folks and they shoot someone without cause??? This is a tragedy but PLEASE stop blaming Police. Who gave him access to a firearm if he is ill? Who did not get him treatment? Where was his family? Taking away money from the police is NOT the answer
“Faith in IN” should be working to reopen the mental health institutions and getting fathers to take their responsibility to raise decent citizens…heck to be decent citizens themselves.
If you can’t take the time don’t do the crime…same goes if you don’t want to get shot.
