Mayor James Mueller on the near total abortion ban

Following the conclusion to the Indiana General Assembly special session, approving Senate 1 Bill that enacts a near total abortion ban, Mayor James Mueller issued the following statement:
“I am outraged by the extremism of our state legislators and their betrayal of Hoosier values. Their ban on abortion and critical medical care is an assault on liberty and women’s rights and will result in more preventable deaths in our state. Extreme legislation like this also hinders our efforts to attract and retain talent and build a better future for all residents.
As we now face the painful lessons of the past, we must continue to uphold life, liberty and equality for all and work to ensure our laws reflect our values and the will of the people. I stand with women in their fight for freedom, equality, and access to medical care.”
Governor Holcomb signed the ban into law, shortly after final approval by the Senate. The bill allows abortion if there’s a serious health risk to the mother, or in cases of rape or incest within 10 weeks. Abortions would be allowed for fatal birth defects up to 20 weeks. Starting September 15, any other abortion is banned unless the mother faces serious health risk.
Holcomb calls the bill “once-in-a-generation legislation” to protect life in Indiana, within what he calls “carefully negotiated exceptions to address some of the unthinkable circumstances a woman or unborn child might face.”

The last time I checked Hoosier values did not include killing babies. If you’re worried about children get your city under control.

Is it a requirement of every South Bend mayor to have a paucity of any intellectual thought or cogent reasoning? Just another enormous void surrounded by a sphincter muscle pretending to be mayor, living in their own fantasy world.

Keep abortion legal in the City of South Bend. Unprepared dysfunctional people should not make more unprepared dysfunctional people. A lot of their offsprings become future criminals. Just what the city police need are the next generation of people shooting each other every night.

Really? Have you been a small-minded bigot all of your life? You want to play God in who lives and dies in the evil manner of Eugenics? Exactly like Hitler, C.M. Goethe, Josef Mengele, Margaret Sanger and thusly Hillary Clinton. Being a criminal is culturally learned-you are not born with a criminal gene. Individual cultures have to be changed, not murder a potential producer of society.

He’s not wrong, though.

If abortions were mandatory for Democrats, we’d fix the country in one generation.
