Indiana’s WIC program is shutting down for upgrades this weekend.
The system that processes WIC payments for the entire state will stop working as of 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26.
Program users won’t be able to use their benefits until the system is back on, which is planned for Monday morning.
The health department will let WIC users know via text message when the system is online again.
WIC users are urged to buy what they need for the weekend before Friday night, but can use SNAP benefits over the weekend if needed.
