Schools across Indiana will benefit from nearly $23 million in safety grants.

The Indiana Secured School Safety Board has approved $22.9 million dollars in matching state grants.

WNDU reports that the General Assembly allocated $19 million for the grant, and another $3.9 million that had been unspent from previous grant cycles was folded into the total. That means Indiana was able to fully fund all of the top priority, eligible requests from schools that applied to the program.

Four hundred twenty-five schools will benefit, funding school resource officers, law enforcement officers in schools, equipment and technology, and more.
