Osceola softball coach sentenced after guilty plea to statutory rape

An Osceola softball coach has received a 40 year prison sentence, with 10 years suspended, after pleading guilty to statutory rape.

Michael Feltz, 45, was turned into police after his 13-year-old victim’s mother found inappropriate messages between the two.

The relationship between Feltz and the girl went on for about five months.

The South Bend Tribune reports the girl sold S-V-U investigators that Feltz molested her in his car in the parking lot of the Target on Ireland Road on multiple occasions.

As part of the plea deal, charges of child pornography and dissemination of material harmful to a minor were dismissed.
