A man in St. Joseph County was arrested after allegedly inappropriately touching his ride-share driver.

It happened early Saturday, September 3, at around 2 a.m., when the boyfriend of the ride-share driver called police to report that his girlfriend was being sexually assaulted by her passenger.

The victim texted her boyfriend and said that the passenger, 44-year-old Omar Lewis, was not letting her make any calls, so all she could do was text.

ABC 57 News reports that the Mishawaka Police Department found the vehicle and arrested Lewis, who appeared to be intoxicated.

The victim told officials that she picked Lewis up from a bar, when he touched her and tried to kiss her.

Lewis was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

He is being held at the St. Joseph County jail.
