A prank over a wallet led to a man allegedly attacking his girlfriend.

It happened on September 1, when police were called to a hotel in Roseland on reports on a disturbance.

That’s where they found the victim, who they say was bleeding with a swollen lip.

She told police that she had taken her boyfriend’s wallet as a prank before going to the bathroom.

ABC 57 News reports that the boyfriends juvenile sister came into the bathroom, forced her way into the victim’s stall, and began punching the victim in the face.

The boyfriend, 22-year-old Andrew Wright allegedly came in and strangled the victim until she passed out.

The victim was taken to the hospital.

Wright was arrested on charges of battery resulting in serious bodily injury, strangulation, and domestic battery.

He is due back in court on October 10.
