Walmart is becoming more cautious as they begin hiring for the holiday season.
The company says that they are hiring 40,000 employees for the holidays and that they have a stronger staffing than they did last year.
Now, they’re focusing on hiring seasonal, not permanent workers.
They will continue to offer current workers to pick up more shifts.
A year ago, Walmart announced that they were hiring 150,000 permanent workers.
Retailers also face shoppers spending less, since costs for basic items, like rent and food have gone up.
