A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car at Bethany Christian Schools was a member of the school’s faculty.

Goshen Police were called to the school in the 2900 block of South Main Street around 8:20 a.m. on Monday, Sep. 26.

There, they found Peter Shetler, 65, with a head injury. He was first cared for by several medically-trained bystanders until Goshen Paramedics arrived and took over care before he was airlifted to Memorial Hospital where he died.

The 42-year-old Goshen man who was driving the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation.

Bethany Christian Schools released a statement saying the entire community is grieving the loss of their beloved faculty member who was the school’s technology director.
