Two of three candidates to take part in 2nd District Congressional Debate

Two candidates will participate in a 2nd District Congressional candidate debate on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

The debate will feature Democratic candidate Paul Steury and Libertarian candidate William Henry. Republican candidate Rudy Yakym declined the invitation.

The debate is sponsored by the District 2 Debate Commission consisting of the American Democracy Project of IU South Bend, the LaPorte Economic Advancement Project, and local League of Women Voters chapters in Elkhart, LaPorte, and the South Bend area, along with media partners ABC57, WNDU, WSBT, WNIT, and WVPE.

Questions for the debate were developed by the coalition in consultation with members of their organizations and voters in their communities.

The debate will be co-moderated by ABC57 anchor Brian Conybeare, WNDU anchor Terry McFadden, and WSBT anchor John Paul.

It’s good that Yakym declined, looking at the list of organizers the event would have been geared against him anyway.

I’ve long maintained that the conservatives should skip debates organized by leftist organizations and the MSM (though that is redundant).

These debates are a farce. The organizations sponsoring them are always a bunch of lefties. Yakym was wise to avoid the stunt because he would have only received gotcha questions. We need to send a guy to congress who will be in the majority. The majority will change in November because The People have had enough of democrats and their stupid policies and wild spending.

I agree with the previous remarks above. Please make it a point to get to know Rudy Yakym, his ideas, beliefs and what he wants for our district. You will be happy you did.

Make sure we all vote on or before November 8th, 2022. We the people between Manhattan and Hollywood need to get rid of these radical spending Demo-Rats. Hopefully we can change the direction of the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives.

Thank goodness former President Jimmy Carter has lived long enough to see the worst President, J.R.B. and congress in history. San Francisco Nancy and New York Chuck will be be giving up their power January 1, 2023.
