After two months of collecting feedback, the City of South Bend has released its “Build the Budget” report, describing the ideas that residents sent in for the 2023 budget season.

With nearly 900 resident engagements between 311 voicemails, budget games, online surveys, and in-person meetings, the 2023 budget season surpassed last year’s feedback.

Build the Budget is a collaboration between South Bend’s Department of Innovation & Technology and the Department of Administration & Finance.

Its goals are to increase resident engagement in the budget process, de-mystify the spending plan, and develop more creative feedback from residents.

The final budget vote with South Bend Common Council is scheduled for tonight (Mon). To read the full “2023 Build the Budget Report” click here: www.southbendin.gov/budget.
