Active shooter call to South Bend Police deemed unfounded

A call to police regarding an active shooter at the Success Academy on turned out to be unfounded.

Officers were called to the school, around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

Police went through the building to confirm that all students and staff were safe. They also checked with students and staff at The Career Academy, and all were safe there, as well.

Officers now in the process of investigating the origin of the call.
