An arrest has been announced in the 2017 murders of Abby Williams and Libby German, teenagers whose bodies were found near the Monon Trail near Delphi in 2017.

Authorities announced Monday that Richard Allen, 50, of Delphi has been charged with two counts of murder. In a Monday morning news conference Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter said the investigation is still far from over. He said that police would continue to look into whether anyone else was involved in the murders.

The probable cause affidavit in the case will remain sealed for the time being. Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter said during the press conference “If you choose to be critical of our silence be critical of me, not the front line.”

On Feb. 14, 2017, the bodies of Abigail Williams and Liberty German were found near the Monon High Bridge Trail in Delphi.

First, Congrats to all involved for making this investigation and arrest.

I listened to the whole news conference. State Police Superintendent is a weakling. He spent so much time practically in tears for someone to lead the fine members of the Indiana State Police. He reminded me of our Chinless Wonder Governor Holcomb who was in tears when announcing the first Covid death in Indiana. I’ve never heard the Chinless Wonder lament over the fentanyl deaths, have you? I was think while listening that Joe Friday would give “just the facts ma’am.” I’m sick of such weak leaders.

The county prosecutor was a lot better than the ISP Super. He should have stayed in his office in Indy. But he had to get his face in front of the cameras/microphones.

I approve of keeping the investigation and facts sealed until they can be sure someone else wasn’t involved. The news conference caused more question that it answered.

Prayers for the family as they are likely to relived the horrible indecent once again.
