A Benton Harbor woman is staying in prison, after losing her appeal.

Kemia Hassel was found guilty in 2018, for helping her lover, Jeremy Cuellar, murder her husband.

She was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

In an appeal, she said that she had ineffective council.

The court did not agree and she lost her appeal.
