K9 Officer Retires

A Dowagiac K9 Officer has retired.

K9 Tole officially retired on Monday, after a six-year career with the Dowagiac Police Department.

He was purchased from Starks Funeral Homes in 2016.

The department says that Tole was a dual-purpose working dog and was trained and certified in tracking narcotics, handler protection, and searches.

Leader Publications reports that Tole will now be taking on a new role, as GoodWill Ambassador at the Police Department.
