Michigan City woman dies after being struck by vehicle

An elderly Michigan City woman died after she was struck by a vehicle.

The collsion happened just after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the back parking lot at the Michigan City Fire Department Administration Building.

Officers arrived to find 92-year-old Virginia Bobillo unconscious and suffering from a severe head injury. Bobillo died at a hospital in Chicago.

A chemical test was performed on the driver during this investigation, though police say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors.

Officers are reviewing video surveillance that may have captured the incident.
