As much as 8 inches of snow possible in parts of Michiana by Thursday

(Photo supplied/National Weather Service of Northern Indiana)

(Amber Twardy/ABC 57 Meteorologist) A Winter Storm Watch is in effect tonight through Thursday morning.

Active, wintry weather returns on Tuesday, Nov. 15, with a rain/snow mix and temperatures in the upper 30’s. Overnight lows near 30 will bring snow overnight. A wintry mix could return Wednesday as well, but the forecasted range of temperatures is large enough to create some uncertainty. Lower temperatures would favor snow instead. The time when we expect to see the most snowfall will be Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Winds from the west and northwest could allow for some assistance from lake effect, resulting in higher snow totals across northern Michiana. Upwards of 3 inches of snow in possible in this region Wednesday night with potentially higher amounts where the lake effect snow bands set up. Snow looks to last through Friday morning before we dry out for the weekend. Temperatures will fall throughout the week with highs in the 20’s starting Friday. With a large spread of forecasted temperatures, exact snow totals will be harder to pinpoint, but we will be closely monitoring forecast models as the week goes on.
