A Benton Harbor man has been sentenced to jail, after running from police.

It happened in January, when police tried to stop 31-year-old Dontavious Tyler from driving without a license plate.

Leader Publications reports that Tyler then sped away from police, slipped on ice, hitting another car.

Tyler pleaded guilty to fleeing and eluding police.

He has been sentenced to two year probation, 210 days in jail, as well as fines.
