Girl, 5, struck and killed on Cassopolis Street in Elkhart

A 5-year-old girl died after she was struck by a pick up truck.

The collision happened around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, in the 900 block of Cassopolis Street.

The girl was struck by a Ford F-250 as she tried to cross Cassopolis Street. She died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Why is a five year old alone after dark?! Why is this five year old crossing Cassopolis? God bless this little soul and give comfort to those who are grieving.

Why was she alone if she was?
Where were the parents or guardians of this baby girl?
