Man accused of stealing license plate, equipment from vehicle

A man was arrested after allegedly stealing a license plate and equipment from multiple vehicles.

It happened on November 14, when officers responded to a report of theft in the Four Winds Casino parking garage.

The victim told police that $1,365 worth of equipment was stolen from his vehicle.

Security footage in the parking garage showed Ford pickup truck pull up next to the victim’s vehicle.

The driver of the Ford was seen wearing a ski mask and moving equipment into his truck.

ABC 57 News reports that officers contacted the owner of the license plate of the Ford, to find that the plate had been stolen from a Ranger on the Campus of Ivy Tech College.

Police later found the owner of the Ford, Ramon Mendez.

He was arrested of theft and theft with a prior conviction.
