Not one, not two, but nine new officers have joined the ranks of the South Bend Police Department.

Eight new officers and one officer from a neighboring jurisdiction were sworn on Wednesday, Dec. 7, to serve the South Bend Police Department.

The department says the large swearing-in classes are due to the hard work of their Training and Recruitment Division and its implementation of Prospect Days in which testing and interviewing for recruits is completed in just one day.

The next Prospect Day is set for Feb. 18, 2023. Those interested in applying can do so at www.sbpolicejobs.com.

Good luck, fellas! You’ve signed on under an administration who will throw you to the wolves if you make any perceived error, and you serve citizens who want you defunded and gone. They are probably already complaining that you are not “diverse”! I hope it works out for you.
