UPDATE: Doris Douglas has been found safe, as of Dec. 13.

ORIGINAL STORY: A local mother is asking for the public’s help finding her daughter, who’s been missing for nearly two weeks.

Rose Douglas says she last heard from her daughter, Doris Douglas, 14, after she missed the bus home from John Adams High School.

Authorities were alerted of her absence and listed her as a runaway, but the mother is fearful something more sinister could have happened to her daughter.

“I’m pleading for anybody who knows anything to get ahold of the South Bend Police Department immediately, because I miss her and I want her to come home,” Rose Douglas said, during a news conference on Monday, Dec. 12.
