The repair bill for the Curious Kids Museum in St. Joseph has been approved by city commissioners.

City Manager John Hodgson said the cleanup bill from the fire for SERVPRO will be covered by insurance. WSJM reports that the bill of $113,830 has to be paid by the city and then reimbursed by the insurance.

Beyond the cleanup are the repairs themselves, which are estimated at a further $252,000. That amount will also be reimbursed by insurance.

There is a desire to get the process moving quickly, given that snow is starting to gather on the weakened roof. The commission has approved all the work.
