Ice skating options in Michiana

Different options for ice skating are open this winter in the Michiana area.

Skaters can hit the ice at NIBCO in Elkhart on Monday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.. On Sundays they are open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.. All hours are depending on the weather. They’ll be open through Jan. 6.

You can also enjoy ice skating and an ice trail at Howard Park in South Bend. They’ll be open Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a reservation required. Free skating is available on Fridays at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m.. On Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, skating will be open at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m..

In Mishawaka, the new Ice Trail and Rink at Ironworks is open daily through Jan. 6. They have an open skate from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Reservation times are available everyday, with different time slots from 1:45 p.m. until 10 p.m..
