An L.S.U. nursing student from Indiana is dead after she was hit by a stray bullet on Friday in the Central American country of Belize.
Reports say 23-year-old J’Bria Bowens of Indianapolis graduated from Xavier University in May and was continuing her education at Louisiana State.
Bowens was celebrating a birthday with relatives on the island of San Pedro when she was hit by gunfire outside a nightclub.
She was dead on arrival at a local hospital.
Police say the suspect was targeting somebody else.
