Michiana Crime Stoppers increases amount of money for speedy rewards

Crimestoppers
Michiana Crime Stoppers has increased the amount of money it’s handing out for speedy rewards.
A Speedy Reward is a tip that Crime Stoppers receives that leads to the arrest of a fugitive.
As of Jan. 1, it’s increased from $200 to $300.
The hike in speedy reward money follows the increase, last year, for tips about homicides from $1,000 to $2,500 and $1,000 dollar tips for felony crimes with firearms involved.
The hope by increasing the reward money is to get more people who know about crimes to step up information to authorities.
