A South Bend man with a criminal record will likely spend more than 14 years in prison after threatening a rideshare driver with a gun before stealing the car.
Dustin Hartline, 29, pled guilty to carjacking and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, according to the Department of Justice.
Early last year, Hartline booked a rideshare. However, when he reached his destination, things turned violent. He held a gun to the driver, fired a shot into the ground with a stolen gun, and ultimately drove away with the car. He was later arrested in Michigan.
After prison, he will face three years of supervised release.
