Meeting set to help Van Buren County community deal with economic impact from power plant shutdown

A meeting is set with a goal of helping the Van Buren County community deal with the economic impact due to the shut down of the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant.
The focus of next week’s meeting is “recovery.”
The plan is being developed by the University of Michigan’s Economic Growth Institute, which is studying other communities where their nuclear power plants have closed.
Following a presentation of findings, attendees will have a chance to ask questions and provide input. The meeting, which is set for 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 23 will take place on Zoom.
