Elkhart Police investigating after multiple homes, a car, and a teenage girl were hit by gunfire

The Elkhart Police Department is investigating two separate shootings.

Around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, Elkhart Police were called to the 1400 block of Holiday View Drive.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two homes and a vehicle were damaged by gunfire. A 16-year-old girl inside one of the homes suffered a graze wound to the leg and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

A second shooting incident was reported just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, in the 700 block of West Garfield Avenue by residents who reported gunfire damage to their home. Some bullets also entered the home. There were no injuries.

Officers collected multiple shell casings and other evidence at both scenes.

So far, no arrests have been announced.
