Woman arrested in connection with shots fired incident in South Bend

St. Joseph County Jail
Mishawaka Police have arrested a woman in connection with a shots fired report on East Donald Street.
The shooting happened on Sunday, Jan. 29, and also resulted in a South Bend Police officer discharging his weapon.
Jacquise Mickens, 32, was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and pointing a loaded firearm at another person.
The officer who discharged his weapon is on administrative leave pending an investigation. The department released a statement, this week, saying the incident did not align with the traditional definition of an “officer-involved shooting.”
