Elkhart Community Schools awarded with $9.5 million grant

Elkhart Community Schools is being awarded with a five-year grant totaling $9.5 million.

They’re one of 42 agencies in the country being awarded with a U.S.  Department of Education Full-Service Community Grant.

They will be awarded just over $1.9 million per year for five years.

The funds will help in areas of need, such as financial literacy, nutrition and community partnerships, and will support the more than 11 thousand students in Elkhart’s district, as well as two Concord Community Schools.
