A Benton Harbor man in a child custody dispute with a woman has pleaded guilty after prosecutors say he fired several rounds into her home.
Carlton Antoni Kelly Jr., 28, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, discharging a firearm in or at a building, and weapons felony firearms.
In exchange, several stronger counts were dropped. The shooting happened last month in the 1000 block of Church Street.
A woman in Kelly’s getaway car is set for trial in early June on assault with intent to murder and other charges.
