The Berrien County Sheriff is leaving.

Paul Bailey is retiring at the end of the year.

It’s one year before the end of his four-year term.

He says that he wants to travel with his wife.

Bailey has worked as the sheriff for 23 years.

Undersheriff Chuck Heit ran to replace Bailey and is now expected to apply for appointment to the office.
