Cultivate Food Rescue has received a big check totaling more than $7,395.
That represents the proceeds from the 2023 Chili Cook-off hosted at Tippecanoe Place and Studebaker Brewing Company that took place back in January.
Locally owned restaurants, breweries and members of South Bend’s Downtown Dining Association came together for the fundraiser.
At the Chili Cook-off, attendees moved throughout the mansion to sample chili and craft beer and vote for their favorites.
Fiddler’s Hearth took first prize in the chili competition, and Café Navarre was named the runner up.
Cultivate Food Rescue is a non-profit agency that works to feel members of the community who are food-insecure.
