Driver who crashed into South Bend building placed under arrest

The driver who police say crashed into a building on the west side of South Bend, last weekend, have been placed under arrest.

It was around 11:30, Saturday night, when officers were called to the intersection of Olive Street and Linden Avenue where they found the car lodged into the building.

One person was seriously hurt and the area was closed to traffic due to structural concerns about the building.

According to court documents, the driver, Aaliyah Robinson tried to take off, but a witness held her down until officers arrived.

Police say she wreaked of booze and officers found an opened drink in the vehicle.
