A Lakeshore School second grade teacher has been accused of sexually assaulting a student.

The teacher’s name has not been released, nor has the age of the alleged victim.

However, the Lakeshore School Superintendent says the alleged suspect is a 66-year-old man who had been with the district for 26 years.

According to ABC 57 News, the Lakeshore Public School Administration contacted the Lincoln Township Police when the student came to them with the allegations.

The teacher voluntarily resigned from the district prior to the underaged victim coming forward, and all parents with students affected by his departure have been notified.

The investigation is still active.
