The West Side Memorial Day parade is returning in South Bend.

The familiar sights and sounds will be back to Ford Street after missing the last two years due to COVID in 2021 and a lack of volunteers in 2022.

The parade committee held the first of several community meetings and received an outpouring of support from volunteers and local leaders.

Open board positions were filled, volunteers signed up, and the official announcement was made.

Applications are now being accepted for floats, bands, and those wanting to march. Anyone wishing to support our heroes are welcome to apply.

Parade leaders are strongly encouraging our local schools to have their bands, clubs, and athletic teams take part.

This year’s parade theme will be announced after the next board meeting in early March.

Parade Date:  Monday May 29th
Step off time:   8:15 am
Start:  Lombardy and Ford
End:  Lombardy and Olive

Board Meetings are open to the public:  6:30 pm March 7, April 4, May 9, and May 23.
