The Elkhart Community Schools Parent Coalition is hosting the second Community Culture Awareness Forum, aimed at brainstorming ways for creating a safer community as it specifically relates to child safety, bullying prevention, and mental health.
It is happening from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Elkhart Freshman Division.
The forum will include a panel discussion with parents and caregivers from multiple school districts, followed by roundtable conversations.
Organizers hope to cultivate a safe space and platform to have conversations and dialogue between parents, students, schools, community members, and providers.
Representatives from dozens of community organizations and mental health providers will take part in the discussions.
Doors will open at 530 p.m. to the public. For those who plant to attend, you’re advised to enter through the main entrance of the Freshman Division and walk straight back to the cafeteria area.
The final meeting for the 2022-2023 school year will be student-led and take place on April 25, 2023.
