Tanker crash in LaGrange Co. prompts brief evacuation

(Photo supplied/Elkhart Truth)

Part of SR 3 was shut down Friday morning in LaGrange County after a rollover crash involving a propane truck.

It happened on the stretch of SR 3 between CR 200 S and CR 275 S, and the road was shut down into the afternoon.

The residents of 16 nearby homes had to be evacuated within a half-mile of the scene due to the potential dangers involved in moving the overturned tanker.

There was no word of any injuries and no leak from the truck was reported. Residents were able to return to their homes a short time later.
