Spring is here and it’s almost time to rent a canoe.

Rentals for canoes are open for the Elkhart River and Fidler Pond Park starting on April 15. Kayaks and pedal boats are also available to be rented.

For Fidler Pond Park, rentals are $10 per hour per boat and anyone under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.

They will be offered daily starting at 8 a.m. For the Elkhart River Canoe Trip, it costs $40 per canoe and lasts for four hours.

The trip starts in Shanklin Park and ends at Ox Bow County Park and is only available on Saturdays. Canoe rentals will end on Oct. 15.

Lifejackets are provided and mandatory.
