Man shot, killed in South Bend on Easter Sunday identified

The man who was shot and killed in South Bend on Easter Sunday has been identified.

Police were called to South Lafayette Boulevard near the County-City Building around 3 a.m. where detectives believe the shooting took place.

While they were there, the victim, Eddie Tyler, 24, arrived a the hospital with apparent gunshot wound injuries and died. So far, no word of any suspects or arrests.

South Bend Police released the following information about the shooting:

On Sunday, April 9, around 3:20 am, South Bend Police responded to the 200 block of S. Lafayette Boulevard to investigate reports of shots fired.
As officers were investigating, they were advised that a victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds arrived at Memorial Hospital.
The male victim ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
His name is being withheld pending next-of-kin notifications.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are being investigated by the South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit
