Bicyclist struck by semi on State Road 119 southwest of Goshen

A Goshen bicyclist has been hospitalized with serious injuries after colliding with a semi.

The crash happened around 5:40 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, on State Road 119 near County Road 13.

Police say the semi driver did not see the bike’s reflectors and struck it from behind.

State Road 119 was shut down for several hours between County Road 13 and County Road 40 for the investigation and to care for the bicycist, who was was airlifted to Memorial Hospital.

The crash is being investigated by the Elkhart County Crash Investigation team.
