The South Bend Police Department is teaming up with SAVE Outreach to help make sure the South Bend Police Department Food Pantry and other organizations are stocked up for the summer months.
Those wishing to help are encouraged to leave their donations in the drop boxes in the South Bend Police Department’s main lobby at 701 West Sample Street or Goodwill’s Career Center at 1805 Western Avenue.
Donations of non-perishable food items, hygiene products, baby formula and diapers are also appreciated. Officers utilize the department’s food pantry when they encounter families in their patrol beats who may need extra assistance.
The drop boxes are set up through the first weekend of May, when the month-long donation period culminates with a food drive event at the police department on Saturday, May 6.
